We exist for the woman who desires to show up beautifully, confidently, and authentically but does not want financial or space limitations to stand in her way. We make elegance accessible by offering sophisticated, carefully curated gown rentals at inexpensive rates, while guiding our clients on styling so they can fully embody their best selves for every occasion.

From a couch to a community.
Rent A Dress Boutique blossomed on a couch on a quiet evening. Our founder Joan Wanjiku, then in her early twenties, found herself facing a familiar dilemma: what to wear to a special event despite having a wardrobe full of options.
If she was experiencing this, so were many other women. What began as a thought soon evolved into a bold business idea — initially inspired by party wear, quickly shifting toward gowns.
Discovering that dress rental was thriving in Western markets yet entirely absent in Kenya, she saw not just inspiration but opportunity. Rent A Dress Boutique was launched with thrift-sourced pieces and a vision far greater than inventory.
A leading pioneer in fashion and sustainability with over 300 gowns and a diverse community of women across different nationalities, age, profession, and background.
